DECISION
ON THE WORK ASSIGNMENT BETWEEN THE PRIME MINISTER AND DEPUTY PRIME MINISTERS
THE PRIME MINISTER
Pursuant the Law on Organization of the Government of December 25, 2001;
Pursuant to the Government’s Working Regulation issued together with Decree No. 11/1998/ND-CP of January 24, 1998,
DECIDES:
Article 1.-Major principles for work assignment between the Prime Minister and deputy-prime ministers:
1. The deputy-prime ministers shall assist the Prime Minister in directing each field of work of the Government under the Prime Minister’s assignment and use the Prime Minister’s powers to handle affairs falling within their respective assigned domains.
2. The deputy-prime ministers shall, within their assigned powers and tasks, take initiative in handling affairs, if any matters are related to the domains taken charge of by other deputy-prime ministers, the deputy-prime ministers shall take initiative in coordinating with one another in handling them. In cases where the deputy-prime ministers hold divergent opinions, the deputy-prime minister who assumes the main responsibility for settling such affairs shall report such to the Prime Minister for decision.
3. The deputy-prime ministers shall be answerable to the Prime Minister for the decisions related to the performance of work assigned to them by the Prime Minister.
4. Weekly, the Prime Minister and deputy-prime ministers shall hold a briefing to exchange information on and handle affairs which the Prime Minister deems it necessary to discuss collectively.
