DECISION
APPROVING THE NATIONAL STRATEGY ON ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION TILL 2010 AND ORIENTATIONS TOWARDS 2020
THE PRIME MINISTER
Pursuant to the December 25, 2001 Law on Organization of the Government;
Pursuant to the Law on Environmental Protection dated December 27, 1993;
At the proposals of the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment,
DECIDES:
Article 1. To approve the National Strategy on Environmental Protection till 2010 and orientations towards 2020 with the following major contents:
1. Viewpoints:
- The strategy on environmental protection is an integral part of the Strategy on socio-economic development and an important base for the national sustainable development. Economic development must be closely and harmoniously combined with social development and environmental protection. Investment in environmental protection means investment in sustainable development.
- Environmental protection is a task of the entire society, of various levels, branches and organizations, of the communities and all people.
- Environmental protection must be based on the enhancement of the State management, institutions and laws, in parallel with the raising of the awareness of, and sense of responsibility for, environmental protection of all people and the entire society.
