DECISION
ON APPOINTMENT OF TESTING AGENCIES OF RADIOACTIVE CONTAMINATION LEVELS IN FOODS
MINISTER OF HEALTH
Pursuant to the Decree No.188/2007/ND-CP dated 27/12/2007 of the Government stipulating the function, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Ministry of Health;
Pursuant to the Ordinance on Hygiene and Food Safety No.12/2003/PL-UBTVQH11 dated July 26, 2003 of National Assembly Standing Committee and Decree No.163/2004/ND-CP dated September 07, 2004 of the Government detailing the implementation of a number of Articles of the Ordinance on Hygiene and Food Safety;
Pursuant to opinions of Ministry of Science and Technology at the Official Dispatch No.687/BKHCN-VNLNT dated 29/3/2011 on inspecting radioactive contamination for imported foods;
At the proposal of Director of Safety and Food Hygiene,
DECIDES:
Article 1. Appoint the agencies, units (List attached) to make testing of radioactive contamination levels in foods.
Article 2. The agencies, units referred to in Article 1 conduct the testing to determine radioactive contamination in foods upon request from the State management agencies, agencies of state inspection of imported foods and the organizations and individuals. Funding for testing shall be paid by organizations and individuals as prescribed.
Article 3. This Decision takes effect from the date of signing. Annually, the Department for Safety and Food Hygiene coordinates with relevant agencies to re-evaluate the testing capacity of the levels of radioactive contamination in foods of the agencies, the units that have been appointed.
Article 4. Mr./Ms. Director of Safety and Food Hygiene, Directors of Departments of Health of the provinces and cities directly under the Central Government, heads of agencies and units referred to in Article 1 and the concerned agencies and units of the Ministry of Health shall implement this Decision.
