THE SIMPLE PAST TENSE ( Thì quá khứ đơn)
* Usage: diễn tả hành động đã xảy ra và hoàn tất tại một thời điểm cụ thể trong quá khứ.
* Adverb: Yesterday (hôm qua), ago (cách đây), last week (tuần trước), last month, last year.

a. REGULAR VERB (ĐỘNG TỪ CÓ QUY TẮC): V-ED
Động từ có qui tắc: thành lập bằng cách thêm ED vào sau động từ nguyên mẫu.
* Cách thêm ED: Với các động từ tận cùng:
- bằng E thêm D
Ex: improve -» improved
- bằng phụ âm - nguyên âm - phụ âm: gấp đôi phụ âm cuối + ED.
Ex: fit -» fitted
